Janine Goodwin

Practice Leader

Janine empowers families to navigate legal challenges with clarity, compassion, and resolution. As Practice Leader, she brings strategic insight, empathy, and a future-focused mindset to every family law matter, ensuring clients feel heard, supported, and confidently guided through each step.

Admitted as a solicitor in 2011 and a public notary in 2017, Janine brings a wealth of legal experience spanning family law, commercial law, civil litigation, property, and estate planning. Having worked in both boutique and general practice firms across Sydney and the Northern Beaches, she now focuses exclusively on family law, offering her clients a well-rounded perspective grounded in strategic thinking and practical problem-solving.

Janine is deeply committed to helping families move forward with confidence. She advocates for solutions that prioritise emotional safety, especially for children and survivors of domestic violence. Her approach is empathetic yet pragmatic, guiding clients through separation with care while avoiding unnecessary conflict and litigation. Janine believes in achieving outcomes that support long-term wellbeing—not just legal closure.

Her areas of expertise include divorce, property settlements, parenting arrangements, financial agreements, and complex relocation and recovery matters. She represents married, de facto, and same-sex couples, as well as grandparents and non-parent carers. Janine has appeared before the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, the NSW Supreme and District Courts, NCAT, and the Land and Environment Court of NSW. She’s also a skilled advocate in mediation and alternative dispute resolution processes.

Janine has called the Northern Beaches home for over 25 years and is raising her three young children in the heart of this coastal community. Outside of work, she enjoys ocean walks with her dog, pilates, and spending time with her family—often dancing alongside her daughter at the Peninsula Physical Culture Club. Her warmth, grounded nature, and steady leadership create an immediate sense of trust with the clients she serves.
